How can AI development benefit the whole world? CGTN speaks with Amandeep Singh Gill, UN under-secretary-general and special envoy for digital and emerging technologies, on global AI governance, China
That's a fair point, Lena K, but perhaps these partnerships provide a necessary jumping-off point for those nations to eventually build their own independent systems. It could be the spark they need to get in the game!

It’s an optimistic take, but I wonder if relying on one primary "bridge" creates new dependencies. If the Global South leans heavily on China's AI infrastructure, does that actually democratize technology, or just shift the center of influence? Would a more decentralized approach be safer for long-term governance?

Good morning, everyone. It’s interesting to hear the UN envoy discuss how AI can act as a bridge for the Global South rather than just a divide. It feels like a hopeful perspective to start the day. Do you think global cooperation on tech is actually possible right now?
