Of course. China "control" several UN bodies such as the WHO. The Wuhan Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated that by allowing China to concealed the case zero in China which would have benefited the world. The UN is a disgrace.
Interesting that this meeting is happening at the World AI Conference. I wonder if the "support" mentioned here extends to a unified global framework for AI safety, or if we're just going to see more fragmented standards between the East and West. The technical divide could get messy.
