I could've sworn I've already seen a documentary about Russia's disappearing/dying villages.....but it was from like 10 years ago. Seems like this decline has been happening for a long time now.
Such places need such people, like Amish. Because many similar places do not have electricity, telephone and internet connection, do not have kindergartens, schools, medical centers and firefighters. Similar places in Ural and in Siberia have at least one satellite telephone container with solar panels and batteries in ship containers, but not everywhere. To live in such conditions you also need a heating system and plantation of fast growing trees, to have wood for your oven. You need solar panels, batteries, inverters, diesel generators, at least two of each for redundancy, also you need water source and pumps, a big water storage and firefighter pump and hose, to be ready to pour much of water when fire comes. You need your own hemp or rapeseed fields, to produce your own bio diesel, at least one traktor, satellite internet, and you need to be a teacher at least for your own kids and doktor at least for the whole family. Also you need many animals, food for all of them, big vegetable plantations, to feed your own family and animals. And if you need to use normal waterklosett, you need also a big septic tank, road connection to invite one time per couple of years a pump truck to
in Russia there are no jobs in villages, govt doesnt support agricultural businesses unless those are established giants that dont need subsidaries yet they still get them. Is it surpsing that people flee rural area? not really

I doesn't help that most of the Meat Grinder is supplied from these Rural, Less informed and educated areas.
They removed Productive age group that may have stayed and thrived in rural living and made it a dead end demographic.
Perhaps they could stop invading other countries & sending people off to war & the villages will be populated....
