There used to be either a written or unwritten law that public buildings, parks, etc. couldn't be named after living past or present office holders to avoid the appearance of kingly reverence. That practice should be legislated. Until now, the most powerful offices in our great country have run on the honor system. Unfortunately, we may need to develop some type of nonpolitical (or combination legislative and judicial) impeachment process to better address those who have no honor.

Spending our money again! Trying to bankrupt the U.S.! He thinks of new things to keep spending. We are his personal bank! He is now installing a helipad at the WH south lawn!! I The WH is starting to look like a PIGPEN!!! I hear that if he runs for and gets a 3rd term, he is going to tear down the WH and build it the way he wants!!! Oh God, NO!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!
And then there will be the taxpayer money to undo all these things that he’s done so we have to pay for it twice. Why don’t we get to vote on things like this that’s gonna cost us money?
Usually such naming is done as a post mortem tribute by others, I am curious whether there are other examples where a living president or other eminent person has renamed places or monuments as a tribute to themselves?
