Young people demanding accountability over repeated exam leak allegations were met with tear gas, lathi charges, barricades, and detentions instead of open dialogue. There is nothing illegitimate about students protesting peacefully. Instead of responding with force, the government should sit down with them and engage in meaningful dialogue. That is how a democracy is supposed to function.
These young people are the country's future. They will become our doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, and public servants. The very least the government can do is ensure they are not harmed while raising concerns about their own future.
