It takes 7 units of energy to create 1 unit of hydrogen energy from water. Unless the rules of thermodynamics change - meaning also the rules of the universe change, then hydrogen can never be financially economically a competitor to fossil fuels, by a long way. That is BEFORE the enormous cost of its storage at minus 200°C.
Waste taxpayer money on wind and solar farms, household batteries, new unnecessary electrical distribution networks, export coal and uranium but be too pure to use it ourselves.
