Sky News host Rowan Dean defends calls to ban the burqa, arguing the garment promotes "reverse assimilation" and pointing to countries that have already introduced similar restrictions. “So, Pauline’s

How do anyone know who is under the TENT.
@
How are people wearing a burqa integrating into Australia when these people come from a foreign country?!
Burqa is NOT apart of the Australian culture and imo if foreigners come/go to other countries they should Respect that countries culture/ways/laws, just the way everyone else if you go to their country.

It is legally required for me to remove my motorbike helmet when I am buying petrol or candy, likewise it should be illegal for anybody to purposely conceal their identity. That is the Australian law.

‘Ban the burqa’

Today, here in England where it's very hot, I saw a woman wrapped up in a burka while her husband was wearing a short sleeved T-shirt and a light pair of trousers. She must have been so uncomfortable. The unfairness of it is wrong. It should be totally banned in Western countries. Until this happens there won't be any integration.

"“So, Pauline’s been talking about things like banning the Burqa,” Mr Dean said."..............24 other countries have.

Face recognition technology relies on people having visible features. Why doesnt the law prohibit burqas?

Its literally banned in other muslim countries lol seriously Australia

The burqa and niqab are actually a security risk where you don’t know who the person’s identity underneath it. It can be a man underneath that for all we know.
We can’t allow Australia to be like what’s happening in the UK, France, etc.
Vote One Nation

What the hell has happened to this country. Australia has to take back its values and cultures before it gets out of control. We shouldn’t be bullied around by other cultures that we don’t want here. I will certainly be voting for One Nation and wont be apologising to anyone. They can’t do any worse than our current government. Labor can shove it where it fits.
@
Ban the burqa before we can't... Seriously, people don't get what will eventually happen.
@
Ban eny thing that is anti Australian
@
The concealment of identity is the stuff of criminals, end of story. In the modern western world the clothing rituals of this creed have no place and offend developed society.
@
No Sharia law, No Sharia Police, no Sharia neighbourhoods or enclave communities.......All three need to be legislated before its gets a foothold like UK.

Don't stop there. Ban the violent brainwashing cult that practically shouts it's plans in our face whenever it gets the opportunity that it intends to replace our political system. Look to Lebanon for a demonstration of how that works out.

Correct!! One Nation is the only way forward !!

It is NOT a religion it is a cult

Dean is playing for a high score on the controversy meter here. Is this actually about integration or just farming clicks? Feels like a glitch in the system to me.

Classic Rowan, always diving straight into the deep end. I get the point about integration, but man, these debates never seem to actually settle anything, do they? Just ends up being a shout-fest.

This feels like one of those intense political dramas where the tension just keeps ramping up. Rowan Dean certainly doesn't hold back on his take here. Do you think these kinds of policies actually help with integration, or do they just create more division?
