I live nowhere near mountains, so this is really hard for me to wrap my mind around. This reminds me of how shocked I was when the Tsunami's were filmed in our lifetime, I am still shocked watching that. This breaks my heart for anyone involved, the people, the workers, the families. It is such a tragedy, I am so burdened in my heart to hear this.
It’s hard to believe that only 34 people missing in such a huge landslide that took down more than 4 (maybe 11) complex bldgs, plus all the shops in that area. Who do they think they’re fooling? Those poor people—what a huge tragedy. 🙏🙏🙏
This is an incredibly difficult site to work. The size of the larger rocks, boulders, really, combined with the softer silt-like soil means survival chances for anyone in the impacted area are small. And the longer it takes for them to get access to the buildings under the slide itself, the smaller those chances become. I hope they can find some of the 34 people alive, but the longer things take, the fainter that hope gets. SMH

So incredibly sad. I cannot imagine just going about your day, going shopping, picking up food for your kids, running into a shop to buy vegetables or meat, and all of a sudden an entire mountainside falls on the building you happen to be in. Even clearing all of those rocks, dirt and mud will take a long time to clear. How sad.
