I think the fundamental issue with Starmer is that Labour won the GE2024 not becuase it was popular, but becuase the Tory government was incredibly unpopular. Labour got less votes in 2024 than in 2019. There was nothing to suggest that Labour was going to become more popular once it got into office.
@Andrew - maybe take out another super injunction - then you will have a reasonable position, smart no doubt but easy to throw stones in glass houses....
I can remember no Prime Minister in my lifetime of having such a concerted campaign of hate against him as Kier Starmer. Not that I wasn't disappointed by him, particularly his stance on Gaza, but he didn't deserve the hatred, yes hatred aimed at him. Hatred has no place in politics, as it only destroys, it never builds.
Andrew Marr showed his true colours in the tame interview of Andy Burnham. First chance to put him under scrutiny and he blew it by just not asking any searching questions. Woeful journalism.
Andrew Marr and all of the other political mouthpieces is the reason Starmer has stepped down Hated by the media from day one he stood no chance .Now they will start on Burnham .
It's called being polite and respectful.
Look at the politicians who demanded him to go. Backbenchers, anonymous and without suffering any consequences from his leaving. Even Badenough was gracious and moving.
