The World Cup final is here. But could this tournament be remembered more for its politics than its football -from Donald Trump's travel restrictions affecting fans, referees and even national teams,
My Italian father told me that Fifa was corrupt way back in the 70's and Brian Granville used to write in depth about how it all changed under Joao Havelange as he set in motion the foundations of the corrupt system we now have.
Havalange built it and eventually fell as Corruption was final exposed decades into his reign. Blatter just picked up the reigns and carried on until he was eventually exposed.
What Infantino has done is basically do it in plain sight and because FA's across the world have all and still have their own noses in the trough as well they silently let things go.
Until the fans finally make a stand this will just keep on carrying on.....the fans will never unite as the majority complain but still dig into their pockets to pay out for it.
Go read Brian Granville and also Andrew Jennings to find the real truth......Fifa will never change whoever is incharge.
Time to red card Infantino for colluding with Trump and not taking any action against Argentina for raising that flag with its dodgy political statement.
How many kids dreams have been stolen now because they were once promised they'll get taken to a world cup, only for gutted parents to realise they'll likely never make it happen
Did they mention the fact USA should have been banned for bombing Iran and then FIFA and USA continued the corruption and sabotage against Iran.... then what about the VAR corruption against Egypt? And what about the FIFA peace prize to genocidal Trump bombing multiple countries and supporting Israeli genocide of Palestine? And what about banning Russia but allowing Israel?
Football is a working persons sport and one of the many reasons it is so popular, is because it’s cheap. Coming from out from the mills and mines, it was about local. It’s about tradition. It was about ticket prices that everyone could afford. This World Cup is not.
Infantino was elected in an attempt to end the massive corruption of Sepp Blatter. Instead, he has turned out to be as corrupt if not more so. And with 200 of the roughly 220 countries who elect the President already having confirmed they will vote for Infantino's contract to be renewed in November, the corruption will merely continue at probably an even greater level. It is time for the Swiss authorities to ban the existing FIFA and a new body established to supervise soccer made up of some of the great soccer stars of the past along with high powered scandal-free lawyers and accountants.
In almost every way this was the worst World Cup in history. The US and FIFA are a deadly combination of incompetence and corruption.

Let the rest of the world enjoy their corruption without us.
