Fun fact, early samurais trained sumo, they then developed the jujutsu styles from sumo which had different names. Kano studied these jujutsu styles, founded judo, then the Gracies learned judo and made BJJ. And then we got the UFC.
Sumo wrestling is actually the oldest sport in the world that is still played. There have been other sports that were invented earlier but no one plays them anymore.
There was a YouTuber who called himself NattoSumo. He made great videos on each day of the tournament, but NHK forced him underground. It was fun while it lasted.
I'm a teacher. Sometimes the librarian would leave a cart of books in the teacher's lounge for a week before she threw them away. I'd always pick out little non-fiction books meant for 4th graders.
I think because they were so approachable and bite-sized, I actually formed some strong memories with them. I learned a lot.
