In my country a 22 yo girl was murdered by a man who was her "friend", he never said why he killed her, and her father died a year later. Of heart broken syndrome
My grandfather passed shortly after my grandmother left. They had been married for a long time. Today is their wedding anniversary. While we mis them and remember them everyday, it is comforting to know they are now together in some other world. It is a loss for us people who are left behind. It is liberating for people who leave this world..
The most terrifying part of grief isn't the emotional pain, it's how quickly it dismantles your physical health. Stop at 00:45 The widowhood effect because everyone misses how extreme it is that a person's risk of dying can increase by up to 90% in the three months following their spouse's death. It is wild to learn that severe depression is linked to higher levels of inflammatory proteins that actively impair your immune system. How exactly does the brain biologically signal the immune system to produce these specific inflammatory proteins during acute grief, and are there ways to artificially block that response? 💀
One time I endured a horrible breakup. And it wasn't anything much in hindsight, I mean I was and still am pretty young. But when it happened I felt this HORRIBLE chest pain and sense of urgency in me. I felt like I was going to die, emotionally and physically. I was fine, and I still am fine to this day. Thankfully I got over it and all is well with me. But after that I do not discredit the impact of a broken heart on people. Had I been older or maybe in a deeper crisis I may not have lived through that.
I suffered from a broken heart when my ex left me alone with our baby. I had a pain in my chest for ages, lost so much weight but had to hang in there for my son. We're both ok now.
I feel that what's stated in the video can also happen when you have a broken heart because someone you love or like betrayed you (cheating on you, breaking up with you, etc.)
as soon as i read the title i was reminded of marjane, i was so sorry to hear that she passed. i read her book persepolis and watched the movie with my class in 9th grade, it was one of my favorite books ive ever read for school.
I was at a double funeral last weekend . The wife died first , the husband 9 days later. They were 90 and 99 married for 70 years. He also had dementia so it was wild because he wasn’t fully aware of what happened at times.
