I knew something was instantly wrong when I I saw how much water she put to boil pasta. It immediately set off bells that she wasn’t focused on making much for her “daughter”
Ok, here's my wild theory about what's going on in there : The parents got divorced. The daughter, Bela, still miss the times where mom was around more often. Thing is, she probably has latent awfully powerful psychic abilities, so she "make" the Other Mommy without knowing she's the culprit. But the problem is that because of her young age and the fact she doesn't probably know about her abilities, she don't control her powers. The result is a doppleganger who is an imperfect, awkward copy of Ursula. It is also WILDLY unstable, and extremely obsessed with Bela's needs without actually understanding them. So until the kid learn that she has reality-bending powers and how to master it ASAP, here we are.
