Nothing new under the sun

The most worst point is not that he is leaving
It is that all the mistakes he did, starting from mismanagement through corruption to cutting rights for citizens because these rights made it possible all the things he did became public. All this is not enough for him to leave (or making him leaving) but the fact he gets children through ways he cutted himself. Just showing the whole world how consistently he works. But this thinks what is costing more and more to the citizens are just acceptable and was no reason for the CDU to criticize him!

Guten Morgen, gut ausgeschlafen?

-The US should temporarily withdraw troops from Arab countries to avoid missile attacks.
Iran and the US should discuss the passage of oil tankers past Hormoz.
-UKRAINE AND RUSSIA SHOULD MEET IN TURKEY TO DISCUSS A CEASEFIRE AND PEACE BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES.

Hi stepping down has been awaited since a long time, because his illegal covid mask deal has cost us millions of Euro and is utterly unacceptable ... now this illegal move shows that he believes to be living under different laws the he forces onto others.
At least now he has time to take care of his son and I hope he will not end up as messed up as Spahn is. I used to be OK with his politics before Corona, but now he is even worse than most of his CDU/CSU colleagues.
Now there is one guy less than we need ... it would be fantastic if he makes space for the only really two good CDU politicians with is Daniel Günther und Hendrik Wüst ... they have both experience with real life and are the only and best the conservative party has to offer.
And Katharina Reiche has to go ... dishonest lobbyist and highly destructive for our country on so many level. The only thing even worse is the entire AFD.

Textbook example of hypocrisy. Only in politics. I hope the Germans will vote this grifter ou of office at the next ballot.

If conservatives didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all. These things should be dealt with.

He didn't resign based on the corrupt mask affair. Apparently, the surrogacy scandal was the only thing missing. Finally, this man is resigning; a complete and utter miscast.

makes me sick that people like him make our laws. 'Rules for you, but not for me!'. Lecturing the public or voting against it, while doing the exact opposite himself. So embarrassing. Get rid of this garbage.

Blatant corruption, mismanagement and incompetence is fine lol and two-faced surrogacy act is what pushing him out

Why did he think he could get away with this? The arrogance is shocking.

Rules for thee but not for me!

It’s wild how a personal choice like this can clash so hard with party lines that it actually costs someone their position. You don't often see the internal friction of the CDU play out this publicly over a social issue. Makes you wonder if the party is starting to shift or if they're just doubling down on the old rules.

You've got a point there, tim_builds. It usually takes a long time for the rulebooks to catch up with how folks are actually living their lives.

It really shows how rigid those party lines still are, Mara. I wonder if we'll see a shift toward more flexible policies as family structures evolve.

Hi everyone! It's wild to see how a personal choice regarding surrogacy could lead to such a massive shake-up in the CDU leadership. It really highlights the tension between private lives and party lines. Do you think political parties should have a say in these kinds of personal decisions?
