Shame on this Colombian journalist, she couldn't even mentioned the fact that the election process was strongly manipulated through AI and the the meddling of the US president Trump. Not only that but the software's security that was in charge of counting the votes was allegedly violated and manipulated since it belongs to a company already found guilty in the US for banking fraud. You can look it up yourself, look for Hermanos Bautista and see it for yourself. And to add salt to injury, she also forgot to point out that votes coming from outside Colombia, specially the ones from the US, were heavily leaning to the right extremist party; this process couldn't be double checked to show the transparency needed and the recounting of those votes was never a possibility.
It amazes me to see people who aren't even Colombian and have never set foot in the country commenting as if they know everything. What's even more astonishing is seeing people instantly take a side based solely on their political beliefs and jump to easy conclusions. Humanity can be incredibly shortsighted.
Those allegations may be disrupting the handover process but have no power to prevent the transition. Petro lost and he refuses to admit it. His undue and illegal influence on the election simply wasn’t enough.
I voted against de la espriella and am sad he won, but he won fair and square. Unless petro can show actual proof (he won’t), he should make the transition as smooth as he so as to not further hurt Colombia.

Everytime the right wins elections it's systemic accusations of frauds or financement malpractice, with courts eager to take it on. It only goes one way.
Excuse me? I do not know in which Colombia this analyst lives, but her account is terribly incomplete and even wrong I would say. Whereas Petro has not produced a single proof to back his accusations, he has explicitly said in X that the elected president of Colombia is Ivan Cepeda. That is not what she said during the interview. The real winner, Abelardo de la Espriella, decided to stop the on-going transition meetings between the two administrations given the refusal from Petro’s government to acknowledge the results. It was a rational measure given this extraordinary situation. However, it is not as bad as it sounds, 75% of all the information needed by the incoming government has been already obtained, thanks to a mandatory request for information made to each and every governmental agency, ministry and any other similar entity.
