20 ships out is laughable !! The Americans have lost . they cannot control whether the strait is open or closed !! the Iranians can !! enough said its not rocket science Urban !! they LOST!!
The US won’t allow a toll arrangement for the straits. Really? It’s just happened. Trump suggestion is that to protect it he wants to charge others to use it.
Iran has claimed from the beginning of this conflict that if the US/Israël would attack civilian structures they would do the same with oil, gas and water facilities in the Gulf States, which would destroy the world economy and cause a massive refugee exodus. Even Trump, until now of course, cannot be that stupid.
I notice no mention of Russian attacks using ballistic missiles on apartment blocks and houses killing civilians mainly women and children which is definitely illegal. Knumpty view.
Iran offers many EASY targets, on which it is very heavily dependent. Here are just a few of them:
1. It's oil and gas production facilities.
2. Kharg Island, which handles most of its oil and gas exports.
3. The 100's of dams, some of which are the largest in the world, on which its water and electricity depend.
How long could Iran continue the war if the US started taking these out?
De facto Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz (SoH). By occasionally striking ships it can dissuade ships from running the gauntlet in try to transit the SoH. In this manner it can choke off the flow to whatever degree it wishes. The result is a shortfall in the supply of petroleum products. Meanwhile the US is mitigating the shortfall by drawing now reserves. This artificially suppresses the price of oil. These reserves will soon hit tank bottom and the price will increase rapidly.
Iran can play the long game, the US (trump) needs an off ramp ASAP.
IMHO There can be no solution while trump lives, the only question is which side takes him out.
Basically the US did it again. ALL THE GEAR BUT NO IDEA!
