Da Lat used to be a popular place where you could truly breathe fresh air and enjoy a cool escape from the heat. Now it is overbuilt, the air is polluted, and the heat feels twice as intense. The water has also been contaminated by excessive fertiliser use from over farming.
The first time I had dinner outdoors, in the chilly weather, there was the sound of a band singing and in the distance was the view of Da Lat city at night. I understand why people often choose Da Lat as a place to enjoy their honeymoon. It was so charming. What I regret most is that Da Lat still has so much chaos from construction sites and it feels like cutting down trees for construction is still going on. Hopefully, it's worth the cost.
When I arrived in Da Lat, it was a shock. Not at all what I expected. It was cold and rainy. Thankfully, I was told to bring a sweatshirt. As I continued to explore the city and surrounding area, I fell in love. It is maybe the most beautiful city I visited in Vietnam. I still think about my time there, which is exactly how I found this video. Miss you Da Lat!! I will return to enjoy the beauty once again.
