Corn was a new world crop and Europeans didn’t find the new world until Columbus in 1492, so how could a Scottish king have corn husks in 1315? I’d guess “corn” was probably referring to “barley corn” which was a term referring to the grain of barley so they probably used barley straw.
0:26 the illustration and narration is misleading. They used hay, i.e. the cereal crop use of the word "corn". Not maize as it did not exist in Europe at this time.
