They didn't build a boat or it wasn't the usual boat shape it was round, which makes sense it would handle the rough waters better than a conventional boat shape. Not knowing where the water is coming from .
To build a ship as large as described in the texts, it would take an entire workforce working for years to construct. It is impossible to believe that one man and his handful of sons could build it in short order. The Flood, which has history in almost every culture, and the Ark/Ship is been accepted by most as being a reality that occurred roughly 12,000 years ago and soil records prove it did happen. But it's construction and who was involved in building it is vague. One thing is for sure ... these people were Master Builders !!
I'm sure at least U.S.A- has some projects to survive a world-large catastrophy. And there are many individuals that are somewhat prepared for such an event. Talking about longevity of human-life, there was possibility that human race had much a longer lifespan before the flood. Or the rulers were alien and had much longer lives.
