I suggest the removal of VAT is funded by removing excess profits from Shell, BP etc al.

Wakey wakey Swinford - the public wont care about the bad blood - the message that he is trying to do something on cost of living is what matters.
@
As per usual the journalists focus on the personal squabbles not on the policy. Note to the Westminster Bubble Journos - the public are interested in policy not the politicians.
@
What is wrong with the Murdock press? Determined to undermine the government before its even started.
@
We need an emergency budget NOW!!
@
£3 trillion in debt and the first thing they do is start talking about more spending....our political class are clueless. They won't do the obvious things that need doing, instead they just compound the existing problems....
@
The government took a 'Golden Share' in Royal Mail when the east European oligarch took it over last year. It's absolutely meaningless! They offer these things to maintain control and greed. Nothing's done for the workforce. In fact this is really an insurance against bankruptcy. These parasites will squeeze every penny out for themselves, then hand it to the government when it fails. That's the only reason it's being offered.
@
So Starmer's digital ID was not wanted and completely unfunded. Good riddance
@
Take the money out of the over bloated welfare and reinstate the two-child benefit cap!
@
Jones and reed are perfect example of everything that is wrong with politicians and politics today. what a pair of slimy characters

‘Something came along’
Would that ‘something’ be Mrs Thatcher?

Strange people on this podcast.

Liebore governments always split down the middle between hard left and centre.... It has always been so.
@
Call me naive, but shouldn't whoever can best do the job get that cabinet role, rather than handing them out like rewards?

Also, shouldn't those who, have shown dubious integrity, by cheating on their taxes for example, be excluded?

Let's talk about the huge cost of unfunded gold plated MP pensions and how they tend to get preferential tax treatment

Has Darren Jones apologised for sympathising with Peter Mandelson over his firing and lying to the British public about his relationship with Mandelson?

No?

Then shut the hell up.
@
So glad Darren Jones got sacked smarmy MP that he is saying that what about Defence and illegal migration
@
The digital ID has not been scrapped or not entirely.
@
Welcome Andy to the real world 😉😆
@
So Jones was tasked with leading and promoting the government’s digital ID scheme but now says it’s unfunded? Strange he waited till sacked to say that.

Welcome everyone! It's wild that the internal friction between Burnham and the loyalists is already stealing the spotlight on day one. That "difficult messaging" part really hits home. Do you think this early tension will hinder their fiscal plans, or is this just typical growing pains?
