Read the book TheFlying Tigers by John Toland while in the 4th grade in 69. That put me on a long journey reading books on World War 2. Signed up for the military book club. I got an award one year for studing so much. Funny thing it was reading history books not school books😊 I got Robert L Scott's, Tex Hills and a few others autographs.

Formed before the United States officially entered the war, the Flying Tigers fought against overwhelming odds and quickly earned a reputation for their daring tactics and fierce resistance. Some historians believe their growing presence in the Far East increased tensions with Japan and contributed to the chain of events that ultimately led to the attack on Attack on Pearl Harbor.
From December 1941 to June 1942, the Flying Tigers provided vital aerial defence for China during one of the darkest periods of the war. Their story is one of courage, sacrifice, and innovation — yet much of it has remained untold. Until now.
